Comic Artist > New comic series @ socomic.gr !

Tomorrow (1st of February), my new comic series entitled "the way things are", starts in the Greek comics-related website SoComic. The series will last until the end of April. You may read it every Wednesday.

{Blogovision Intermission} Press > Status magazine, Comics Alliance & Lifo!

I was selected among the 40 most creative people in Greece, for the latest issue (December 2011) of Status magazine, for my works as comic artist/illustrator/graphic designer and for my choices as a publisher.

It's nice being among friends (such as Pan Pan) and people that I truly admire their work (such as: Designers United, Beetroot, HOPE, Stelios Faitakis, Kostas Voyatzis, Greece is for Lovers e.t.c.).

Also, my Spider Jerusalem's tattoos piece, was selected from Comics Alliance (a massive comics related website) for their previous week "Best Art Ever" section.

Last but not least, my sketchbook for the upcoming exhibition in Tel Aviv, got some exposure in Lifo's site culture section. Great times!

Illustrator, Comic Artist > One Man Show studio's PRINTS @ Comicdom Con Athens 2011!

The last couple of days, I'm working on the brand new comics/artbooks of my publishing company "giganto books". The 2 of the 4 of them are mine and all will be presented this Friday (and ALL weekend) on Comicdom Con Athens 2011, the best comics-related festival/convention here in Greece.

Since it's been a while since I made some prints of my works, I decided to do so, this year @ Comicdom, with 3 favorite illustrations of mine.

The prints are A3 (international paper) size, are limited to 15 signed & numbered copies and are printed in 300gsm glossy paper. The price for each is 15 euros and I hope that they will be sold out really soon.

As for my brand new comics, they are now in the offset-printing process and below you can see some photos from there.

Comic, Illustration > Cover & index of "Populart 3" is revealed!

This is the cover of "Populart" #3, the 2nd brand new comic of mine (the 3rd issue of my personal comic title) that will be debuted at Comicdom Con Athens 2011, next weekend.

Populart 3, is 48 pages, is in greek and it is divided in 2 parts: the first part is 32 pages and includes 9 comics of mine (from 2003 until 2009) and the second part is 16 pages and includes some of my illustration works (see image below for details). Each section is printed in a different kind of paper.

Populart 3 costs 8,5 euros, but at Comicdom Con Athens 2011 (all 3 days) you can buy it in the special price of 6 euros (and for less, when we will have "happy hour" in our giganto-booth).

Below you can see the cover-inside spread and also the back-cover of the book (the color that you see on the images will be a 805 fluo Pantone in the printing process).

Comic, Illustration > Cover of "Neurotica" is revealed!

This is the cover of "Neurotica", 1 of my 2 brand new comics that will be debuted at Comicdom Con Athens 2011, next weekend!

The comic book is 112 pages, 14x13cm and will be given inside a plastic case which -except from the comic- will include some other cool stuff too: a pin, a flyer and the new digital release single of My Wet Calvin, called "Humble" (2 songs). The price is only 10 euros.

The comic will be a limited-release of 150 numbered & signed copies.

On Saturday 09/03 on Comicdom Con Athens 2011, we will also have a special event for the promotion of the comic, that I can't tell much about right now...

Comic, Illustration > Pre-production Populart #3!

Right now, I'm working on 1 of my 2 brand-new comics for the upcoming Comicdom Con Athens 2011 event.

The image that you see above, is the illustration for the cover of Populart #3 (link > text in greek), my personal serialized comic. The typographic elements, will be attached later on...

Comics > "Neurotica" comic for My Wet Calvin, UPDATE!!!

Finally, an update! I'm working many hours a day in order to have ready, on Saturday, the panels of the comic "neurotica" for the gig of My Wet Calvin (link is updated with colored PROMO).

So far (40 out of 108), I'm glad how the panels are turning out. It's the first time that I'm giving original panels to the public, so I'm scanning everything in 1200dpi, for my archive.

There will be also another update on the comic (maybe on Friday night).

Last but not least, here you can find the official press-release of My Wet Calvin's gig/single (in Greek).

Comics > "Neurotica" comic for My Wet Calvin's upcoming gig!

Right now I'm working on a (100+ panels) comic for the upcoming gig of My Wet Calvin (one of my favorite bands). The gig is on Saturday 12/03 and will take place at the strip-club "Erotica Live Show" (Agios Padeleimonas). It will be a marvelous night, don't you think?

The comic is called "neurotica" and will be part of the release of the new single by the band, called "Humble". The night of the gig, 100+ digital pieces of the single will be given for FREE, with 1 handmade panel of the comic. That's a collector's item!

The whole comic will be a digital release at the band's site and also will be published by my company giganto books, as a limited-edition comic book, released in the upcoming Comicdom Con Athens 2011.

These are some good news!!!

The 2nd episode of the new comic-series "dangerous thoughts" that I'm sketching for "w/e" magazine of Eleftherotypia newspaper, is ready! You can see above, a teaser panel from the girl's thoughts page (we did some changes... each character's -man/woman- thoughts have a full-page now and also when one of them is thinking he/she is in full color while the other one is in plain white).

The #2 issue of "w/e" magazine will be released in mid-February (I'll post the exact date soon...).
